Blah Blah Blah Blog

I'm in a random mood so you're getting a heap of random junk.  I think there might be a very thin thread of common theme in there somewhere...but let's not get our hopes up, ok?

First of all, you people need to freaking STOP with the interesting and funny blog-writing. I added another five blogs to my bloglines within the last 2 days. Enough already! That makes 52 blogs I suscribe to and I have another 6 in my favorites folder that don't have feeds.  Fifty-eight.  Fifty-eight of you clowns (sorry Dave2) making me late for work. A girl's gotta eat, ya know.

Another thing, also mentioned here by Kristen. Are any of you guys going to Blogher '06? I really considered going to SXSW this month, but decided against it because, more than anything, I was scared to go.  I would have been going by myself to meet a bunch of bloggers that had never heard of and who couldn't care less about Taste the World or me. Blogher will be even more intimidating, I think, because it's a bunch of nearly superhuman blogger women who know everything and everyone.  And before you say it, I don't really know why I want to go either, other than I know it'll be a killer experience (and you know how I'm all about that).  I'm not a big player. I don't make a living off of Gooogle ads (unless $3 a month is 'a living'). And though it'd be the most kickass thing in the universe to make a living off blogging, I just don't think I have the material to do all that. I'm not a mommy, I don't do anything interesting or profound, and I'm not all that funny (though I do get laughed at quite a bit).

Holy shit, that was a long tangent. Back to the original question - anyone else going to Blogher?  Kristen is, I hear. Maybe she'll speak to me and I can get her to autograph my boobs or something.

Before I forget, and since I've flooded this post with links anyway, if you haven't checked out Pupsickle, please do so.  If you have and it was old material, it was Blogger's fault...she is up and running again.  Go say hi.  Tell her Chase sent you.

That's all I'll torture you with today. I promise I'll attempt less bullshit better content with my next post.

Hey.. here's my reply to your comment.. thought I'd bring it over here so that you didn't have to search for it. Yes, I did see your haircut.. it's actually kind of funny. I wrote my post about my haircut, and couldn't post photos. And then, I talked to Belinda who said she'd love to cut her hair like yours, and then I said, "Oh Yeah, mine is a lot like hers! But I SWEAR I DIDN'T COPY her! I've wanted my hair like this for a long time!" So there you go! You look great!

Hey, I just noticed I'm in your blogroll! Sweet. That means I'm special! I'm liked by Chase! Cool. That made my day!

Come to BlogHer! Oh come, oh come! There is a bunch of us going who just plan on squealing at everyone when we figure out who they are!

Sorry to be the dork here but what's SXSW? And I hear there's going to be some sort of OK blog conference this fall? Not going to BlogHer. I think my husband already thinks I'm a bit mad for spending so much time blogging. Going to a conference to discuss it with other bloggers may push him over the edge. ;) Plus, isn't it in CA or something?

I'm going. I would be pleased to meet you and I don't know everyone/everything either. To be honest, it's better to be you or I than dooce at one of these things, I'd imagine. We can drink too many margaritas and dance the hoochi-coochi without (too many) people taking pictures about us for their blogs. Mom, schmom. There will be political bloggers, journalist types, and just plain fun funny people like you. Let's see you there. No excuses.

Celena - hhaha!! That's too funny! Kevin - But of course! Anyone who can lose and win back their man card 15 times in a week deserves the attention. *mwah* QofS - I'm about 85% sure I'm going. I've already been looking at the hotel stuff and trying to figure out who I can con into sharing a room with. Heh. Mind if I squeal with you guys? ;) Chili - It was just held last week in Texas. They had panel talks and all that jazz...basically a bunch of nerds talking about nerdy stuff. (aka blogger heaven) Blogher is in San Jose, yeah, but it'll be SO worth it. Two days in California with a boatload of drunken women bloggers? Big fun! Mom101 - you're absolutely right. I wouldn't want THAT many people fawning over me like they do Heather. Ok, that might be a lie, but the drunk pictures would certainly be aplenty (you saw propeller arms, right?! HAHAHA!) I SO want to go now. Bump my percentage up to 90%.

Hey ~ I thought it was a done deal for you. And seriously, I'm not famous. yet. :)
Posted by Kristen at March 22, 2006 07:21 PM

i really want to go to blogher. but why? i don't make any money, i'm not famous, and i'm not even cool... i just want to give hugs to the people i read all the time and say reassuring and supportive things and try not to talk about pee...

Ok, I am sooo glad you posted about this because I have been completely flip-flopping on this. One minute I am totally going, the next, I am a big fat chicky chickenhead. Ok, so you may be going. I should post about this and see who else is(aka, who else may actually speak to me). OMG. I feel chickenhead coming back on...
Posted by Deb_LA at March 23, 2006 01:24 PM

Kristen - Well, I've already told myself that I am. I just need to pay the registration and it's for sure. I'm going to Vegas in June, so I'd better not lose all my money there. Heh. Jennifer - ok, you have to come. Bring pictures of the babies. I'll talk pee with you...my house is full of it too! (That prolly sounds gross to people who don't know what that alludes to) Deb - OMG BFF LYLAS!! ;) You're SO going if I am. We'll hang out at the bar and giggle and snort at everything together. Mmmkay??

Reading all these comments makes ME want to go to Blogher 2006! I wonder if I would be shot on site, or just bitch-slapped and sent on my way?
Posted by Dave2 at March 23, 2006 02:34 PM

Oh, dear, sweet Dave, bless your heart. I imagine if a hot ticket like you showed up at Blogher you'd have to worry about bigger things than being slapped. Like, ya know, swarms of women pouncing you all at once. I'm just saying.
Posted by Chase at March 23, 2006 02:44 PM

Put you butt on the line, book your ticket and come. I went last year. Didn't know anybody and didn't know who I was sitting next to at the table. It was wonderful. There were no queens at the ball, it was just 280 or so women and some guys having a ball, talking, eating, discussing and being ourselves. The Mommy bloggers are cool so long as you respect them. The for-profit and the just do it folks heard each other. I think that was the mantra for the weekend "respect". Speak your peace, listen to the alternative and eat some more food. Besides, I'm hunting down black & lime green sneakers and an outfit to match.

Um, you hear that Dave? Guys were there. Um, those are some good odds though fella. Mmmkay, Chase, only if you are going though. Cause then who else would I have to tackle Dooce with? Um, or maybe just take a picture of her while pretending I am taking a picture of you...yeah, that's much better. Less stalkerish, right? RIGHT????
Posted by Deb_LA at March 24, 2006 02:51 AM

Ima' go, and taking The Husband as well. There WILL be men there, Dave--just go look at the "Who's Coming" pages. And they say that about 20% last year were male? Or something? Yep, you come on. Alex and I have a suite, you stay with us if you have to. Geez, now I feel like we should pick you up in OK and make it a wild roadtrip instead of flying! The Queen is correct, there will be much squealing, and Kelly (Mocha) owes me an "Apache" dance. Plus she says she has Strawberry Shortcake panties, and I'm gonna find out.
Posted by Belinda at March 24, 2006 03:59 AM

Gena - I loooove the mommy bloggers! Even though I'm not one, almost every blog I read is a mommy blog, so I totally respect 'em! I'm ready to buy my registration right now!! Deb - I think I love that idea. We're totally doing the picture thing. Hehe! But I'll take pictures if you want to tackle Dooce. And then I'll take pictures of her bodyguards carrying you away. Talk about fodder! Belinda - I'm thrilled that you're going! *sigh* I don't know how I could say no now. I want to meet all you wonderful people! About Mocha...I can't wait to see the dance. It scares me a little...but it's going to be an excellent picture opportunity!

I think you have a lot to say. Your site is one of the first ones I check everyday. So take that. There.
