The Verdict Is In

OJ did it!

Ok, yeah, not that verdict.  I went to my swing class last night.  I walked in and it was a real studio - not an empty warehouse like last time.  There were mirrors on the walls, wood floors, everything I wish for in a dance studio (I don't ask for much!) The class was small, two girls, two guys. The other female was about 20 years my elder. The two boys were younger - probably mid-20s.  Everyone was super nice, not horrid dancers, and we laughed the whole time.  It was an hour of great fun, whereas last time felt like an hour of water torture.

I liked it so much, I took Hill's advice and joined the Salsa class, which starts on Thursday.  Next month? I'm getting back into tap.  I'll be a dancin' fool! 

For something totally unrelated, my brother and I had a great, very loving conversation as we were watching college softball today:

Me : I'm SO not good at sports. Did I tell you that one time I kicked the ball during a softball game?

Bro [rolling his eyes] : Uh, no.

Me : Yeah, someone hit the ball right to me and I didn't know what to do with it....so I kicked it.

Bro : Did they call you a tard?

Me : Probably worse than that. I never expected to get an athletic scholarship.  I think I just got all the brains and none of the brawn.

Bro : I think you got gypped on both ends.

Me : Bite it. But I did get the looks.

Bro [rolling his eyes] : Uhhhh. I don't think so.

Sounds like fun. My brother took salza dance classes when he first met his wife. She was the "Latina with the swing" and he never danced the salsa. He wanted to impress her, she kinda looks like Selena, you know the young singer that was killed." Anyway, he asked my older sis if she would be his partner. They had blast and he ended up marrying his Latina Dancer and doing lots of dancing! Hey....will we get to see pics of your progress? You swinger you!!! Is Pappy gonna be your guest swinging partner?? :)

Muse, you're a spaz. But I love ya. ;) And it's not you...it's YAHOO. I promise I'll switch one day. As far as pictures - don't count on it. And for pappy being my swing partner - he wishes! (he keeps asking me to swing, but he's probably not talking about the dance...old pervert)

She won't let me dance w/ her. My boobs swing more than hers - makes her a little jealous when all eyes are on me... ;)

Pappy - Your boobs swinging are the least of my problems, saggy. Kristen - I'm impressed that I went, too. But am SO glad I did! I'd forgotten how much fun dance classes are (or...should be)!! And, have I mentioned you're the BEST lately? (Flattery will get you everywhere) MrsFortune - Thank you for being a fantastic renter!! You have gotten the most clicks yet! :) And, I don't think it hurt...besides hurting my reputation as softball player. (I was REALLY bad...really, really bad.) ReluctantHousewife - I'll let you know once my beginners lessons are over and we'll go BOOGY!! Are you going to blogher? Maybe we can lead a salsa/swing party! ;)

oh, SO jealous about your classes! I was going to take swing with an ex and then...well, yeah. Swing = ex. Took a while to be able to listen to Louis Prima again after that one. So maybe you'll teach me some moves at Blog Her?

Deb - It's SOOO a deal. I've already decided that the conference needs to be like 5 days so we can skip a couple and just have fun. :) I'm thrilled!! Mom101 - I *LOVE* Louis Prima. Ok. So we have three out on the dance floor swinging. Me, you, and Deb. We need some men who will swing us around, now! (By the way, I tried to get Chanakin to come with me to BlogHer and he pooh-pooh'd on the idea, saying "cackling women...pshaw!" Girls, get him!)
