I'm About To Get My Ass KICKED

Tomorrow evening, I'm going with a friend to do some Bikram Yoga.  Basically, they stick you in an oven and tell you to put your feet behind your head.  Or something like that.

90 minutes of 26 yoga poses.  The room is heated to 105 degrees.  And then they crank up the ol' humidity to, oh, about 50%.  Let me do some calculations, here....

...

...

...that will make the room a balmy...

...

...

14,000 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT!

I actually looked up a heat index chart to see about how hot it would be.  You wanna know what it said?  It said RED.  Seriously - it blocked out that space and every space after 45% humidity and warned that a heat stroke was HIGHLY LIKELY and to STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ANYTHING THAT HOT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BECAUSE WHO WOULD DO THAT TO THEMSELVES YOU FREAKING MASOCHIST?!...

If you don't see me around for awhile, send a search party to Tulsa.  Tell them to look for a body with one leg wrapped around its upper torso, a water bottle permanently attached to its face, and lying in a puddle of (what we hope is) sweat.

God rest my soul.

I'd tell you to take pictures but the camera would probably melt.

I love Bikram. LOVE! It is the only workout I have ever enjoyed! Of course we don't have it here in the sticks of Mayberry.

LOL. Now, see, if I tried that the paramedics would only find a skeleton. Seriously. Y'know what, Chase. Don't even bother to go to that. Just come on down to Arizona. It's getting into the triple digits out here, all you'd have to do is set up your mat outside for a while and pour water over your head. Instant Bikram Yoga. All natural, no thermostat involved.

You don't need Bikram yoga... just come on down to Southwest Florida. Doing just about anything outside between now and mid October will give you the same effect ;o)

Wimp! :P I have been doing it for a couple of weeks.. you would know believe what it has done to my body! My first class was HELL i mean HHHHHELL!! And it doesn't get much easier but the heat gets more tolerable... and the way you feel when you are done, it rocks! You should email me and tell me how it went, since I can't read your blog at work ;)

Wow! That is hot! I took a power yoga class before where they heated the room. I LOVED it. They had the dim lights, incense, music, etc. Very cool. But I know the temp was nowhere near 105! At least I don't think it was. One tip....don't eat before you go and bring a few bottles of water!
